| Busy busy busy, crazy crazy crazy! Those words can't even begin to describe the insanity that has become our world. Matt has been working on base still. His job isn't terribly predictable, and I'm pretty sure that he's not really a fan of it, but he has been working out there none the less. He comes straight up to the music store every day after he gets off work and gets a few things done here for about an hour. I've been working the music store most days. When I have to work at Sonic during the day, we have either our wonderful guitar teacher or someone from our amazing family come in and watch the store. Thankfully we've only had to be doing that once or twice a week if that. We certainly are very blessed! When I have to work at Sonic at night, I get to go from the music store to Sonic. Those are my least favorite days. 9am until 11 or 12 at night is definitely not fun. I just had two of those days back to back after an amazing wedding day (by the by, congrats Isaac and Kate!!!!). We just have to keep telling ourselves that this is a temporary situation. As soon as we finish paying off the little debt we have at the store and save up a little money, we'll probably both quit our jobs and live off of the music store. And amid all of this working insanity, Mya is STILL sick. I'm not terribly sure how she's been doing the past two days because I haven't really gotten to see her other than 30 min in the morning and another 30 min at night, but as of Sunday she was still super fussy. She has pneumonia again. They're going to run a few more tests on her next week to make sure that there's nothing seriously wrong with her that's making her so sick for so long, but she doesn't have diabetes, so that's nice. The other two kids are doing pretty well. I've started doing preschool stuff with Sadie at home (actually at the store, but yes), and she is absolutely loving it! Doug has grown quite a bit recently and I'm pretty sure he's now taller than Sadie. And in other news, I have gotten all of my financial aid in and I am enrolled and paid for for the fall semester! I probably could finish up my associates degree this fall, but then we'd have to pay for some of the classes and I'd have to take more classes than I'd really like. I'm still working on exactly where I'll go from there. I could go straight to UMKC and finish up a doctorate in four more years, or I can take it slow and finish up my bachelors after one more year and then go to MU for four more years of a much less intense doctorate program. I really need to decide within the next few months, but a lack of decision will send me to MU. I guess we'll just have to see. I think that's all. | | |
| A day without children, my heavens! Not sure what to do with myself! I'm at the store today while Matt's out on base. I haven't been away from Mya for more than an hour or two since she got really sick. I'll be totally honest, I'm a little freaked out right now. But she's in the wonderful hands of Emmy, so I know she'll be fine. I don't think I've really bragged on her, but she has been an amazing help to us. I love having her in our home! It's amazing to have someone that we feel like we can truely trust who is available all the time! She's just wonderful!!!! Anyway. I've also had the pleasure of helping out with school work, and it's been really nice to be able to brush up on all stuff before I start classes! It's just been an all around joy! Matt is doing very well also. Like I said, he started his new job today. I think he's a little nervous to not be at the store everyday. We have no idea what his hours will be out on base. We don't even know how often he'll be working. But yes. He's such a wonderful husband! The children. Oh my, where to start. They all have a yucky virus. It's pretty nasty for the older two, but it can be pretty serious for Mya. It had her in the hospital over the weekend. She got really dehydrated and was refusing to take any liquids. We tried bottles, sippy cups, regular cups, straws, soda bottles, seringes, medicine droppers, spray bottles, water guns, everything we could think of. She's still being pretty stuborn, but she FINALLY nursed a little this morning, so that's a start! She had an appointment yesterday, and the Dr. kind of wanted to put her back in the hospital, but she let me take her home. She isn't acting super dehydrated, and they said they won't put her back in unless she starts getting all goofy again. So hopefully we can keep her from getting that bad again. I guess this stuff can take a few weeks to get over, so keep those babies in your prayers! You know, it's kind of funny. Anytime that I have 2 days off in a row, I get sick. I had 5 days off in a row, and my child gets super sick. I'm terrified of what will happen when I quit! | | |
| Okay, update. Store is doing well, it pays all of it's own bills, definitely no complaints. Matt is going back to work as a construction worker on base for awhile to get the store completely out of debt and maybe even pay off the house, so that's exciting. The kids have all been sick AGAIN. Sadie seems to be getting over it, Doug still has all sorts of stuff rumbling in his chest, and Mya's just started with whatever illness it is. The Dr. said she'll probably get pneumonia again. That stinks, but I guess we'll just have to hope she doesn't get it. Speaking of Mya, she's now a year old. Check it out, still not pregnant, this is a new record for us! A year and two days! Woo who! Other than that, not too much going on, finally got the camera back after the Christmas fiascos. Ran over one camera, the other one decided it wasn't going to work anymore, yeah. Just unfortunate stuff all going on. That's pretty much what's been going on, and one of my children smells, so I'm gonna go. | | |
| Not quite 2 months. Things have been terribly busy around here. I'm pretty sure everyone knows, but for those who don't, we are now the proud owners of a business. An open business at that. It's been going good, we're having our grand opening on Black Friday, so that will be fun. It seems that everyone else has pictures of the store completed but me. I'll have to take care of that one of these days. Matt has been up at the store Monday through Saturday. I think he likes it, and he's finally employed! It was giving him an opportunity to ride his motorcycle until it started getting really cold. Sadie and Doug have gone through a recent growth spurt. They're keeping up with eachother, but they're both growing out of their clothes quicker than I can switch their wardrobes out. Wonderful children Mya cut her third tooth tonight. She's crawling around and pulling herself up on things all the time. I don't seem to remember Sadie or Doug falling over nearly as much as she does, that kid is always tipping over. The kids have been spending a TON of time with Emmy, she's been over at least 4 times a week to hang out with them while I'm at work and Matt's at the store. She has been teaching the older kids songs, you'll have to ask her about the kid's version of You are My Sunshine. Hillarious. We've recieved lots and lots of help with just about everything from everyone. We have been so blessed with our families, I really just don't know how we'll ever be able to thank them properly. We're still working on that.... I had my first deaf person in over a year at church this past Sunday . She was very nice, and at least said that she understood everything I said. This week we had plenty of scripture from 2 Thessalonians, Ephesians, Phillipians, and when signing, you have to spell all of those out. I just started saying "the Bible says this". And our Pastor tends to say a lot of things that aren't very signable sometimes (if you unzipped me you'd find Jesus that's why I'm so big, the spout where the glory comes out, baptized in embalming fluid-no fun to try and spell that one out...), so I'm pretty sure she either didn't understand those comments or wasn't paying attention. Either way, it was very enjoyable. I actually had people from the church who didn't realize I was signing. I don't know what they thought I was doing. No idea. And a few pictures.
The camera is at the store, I'll try to get more later. | | |
| I guess I should post sometime.... I was going to wait until my new memory card reader came in, but it's been a week, so I'll just make a picture post later. Matt has been very busy at the store. He's made a lot of progress, but we'll probably be put on hold for a little while because we kind of forgot to go and get a permit. Oops. I've been out there a few times a week. Thankfully Emily has been out here with the kids so we don't have to take them up to the store. That generally doesn't go well. Sadie and Doug are doing great. Doug is still potty training. Hopefully we'll be down to one baby in diapers soon! Mya rolls around and eats solid food now. She kind of walks forward now in her walker. She's a funny kid. I'll put up the pictures when the card reader gets in. | | |
